Albany Golf Club
Description:
Albany golf course is a true links course designed by William Angove. The course rises out of
the sea and is set totally in coastal sand dunes with magnificent views from the fairways over
King George Sound. From July to October there is a good chance to spot whales calving. The
wind swept fairways are typical links land with swales and undulations, and the smooth greens
are very quick with subtle variations. The vegetation consists of Albany woolly bushes and
peppies that make for tight driving from many tees. The course plays particularly long with the
hardy kikuyu grass and prevailing wind conditions. A very enjoyable and testing layout. Neat
dress code applies and soft spikes are required. Visitors are welcome and membership details
from can be obtained from the office.
